History:Marcus Danvers was the "all American " kid growing up. Was attentive in class , got decent grades and was always the type to help another out if need be. He attended Florida State and became a solid Line Backer for the Seminoles, going so far as to be drafted by the NFL. But as fate would have it, his "personal " agent messed his chances over in a bad contract deal which never saw light and his football career was over. Crushed, he moped around for some time working meaningless jobs until he saw an add to join up with Shield and take the best security training on earth. This sparked his interest once more and signed up immediately. After passing and becoming a well respected member of his class he landed a plush job helping to guard Project Pegasus from time to time, until yet again fate intervened and due to down sizing right after the forced resignation of Fury's son he lost his job. But an agent for the "Power Broker" saw a fine "test subject" in Marcus during his time at Project Pegasus and offered him a chance at the same experiment that made USAgent, BattleStar, Right and Left Winger and Nomad a former Bucky. Marcus took the gamble and won, gaining the strength to bench roughly 10 tons and greatly enhanced his physical prowess. Like those before him he took a name befitting his country, that of Minuteman, Son of America. He still clings highly to the ideals he reads from Capt. Americas webpage and subscribes to his weekly letter, mainly because the Captain is what Marcus wants to be like the most. Like most things in life, they don't come free and the Power Broker wanted to use Minuteman in some of his "black OP's" style work, and having Shield training was a huge plus. This time fate intervened on behalf of Marcus in the form of his fighting back against the Power Broker and subsequent back alley dealings coming to light that crushed the Power Broker financially and sent him into hiding (this was USAgent getting some payback for having his parents killed due to his identity exposed) Marcus now works out of his home as a minor computer consultant and builder. He lives off of some website design jobs and computers he's put together in the past so he does all right. And by night he is Minuteman, helping to set things right Current News: Minuteman AKA Marcus has been on the move both on the scene and behind them in his personal life . He's found himself deeply attracted to a young woman known only as Faeria. She's captured his heart and helped him through some troubling times. Marcus has spent the better part of his time knowing Faeria soul searching himself. Looking for ways to provide for both of them now, Marcus stumbled upon a rather odd and vague add in the newspaper in the form of a help wanted ad. Tracking it down to none other the Silver Sable, Marcus quickly worked at making a good impression with her and has since landed himself a role on her Wild Pack, meanwhile Faeria had been searching for a place to help her learn her own powers and develop them, ending up finding such a place at the Genesis mansion in N.Y.C. Fearing the worst, Marcus wasn't about to let Faeria slip from his fingers with his role in the Wild Pack, so Marcus followed and joined Genesis as well. Genesis is NOT what Marcus thought he was getting into. Most of the members here are at least 6-7 years younger than him or more and this weighs on him nightly. His near constant battle with doing whats right has him at odds with himself. Staying forces him to become a role model, which is something Marcus doesn't feel he's cut out for and never signed on for while leaving the team could quite drive an irreparable wedge between Faeria and himself. To Marcus losing Faeria is asking way too much. Addendum:Tex the former leader had gone into a coma due to injuries sustained in the line of combat. Despite Minuteman's warnings he lead the untrained and un prepared Genesis Mansion team into combat to rescue his wife. In the wake Minuteman was left to pick up the pieces. Marcus did indeed end up losing Faeria as she ran out of his life too scared of what the future could bring. Pair that with Marcus having to lead the now leaderless Genesis Mansion crew (what was left anyways) it became an incredible strain. But as the song says "what comes up must come down" and Minuteman was already at rock bottom. thats when Talia Frost came his way, the teams medical doctor. Helping him to get past the rough times he regained his motivation and drive again. This time he wasn't going to see the team led into combat only to perish and critically injured. Marcus began the working of the Aegis Foundation and with the help and support of Savage and Talia that project roared to life as he recruited others to join the newfound team. Gone now are the bad memories and past, ahead lie the future and the silver lining mere steps away.
